New Year, Same Me (For Now…)

- Are you a New Years resolution type of person? I typically am, but this year, after the rush of the holidays, I don’t have it in me. I really enjoy planning, preparing, and goal setting but not right after the exhaustion of Advent and Christmas, and not in the dead of winter. I just don’t have the energy to prepare for anything at the moment. I need to rest first.

A friend of mine recently shared that she’s moving her New Year’s practice to the Spring Equinox, which I really loved. It makes sense to me too. Now is a season for hibernation. It’s a time to enjoy small, cozy things, and treat our bodies to the comfort and rest it needs after concluding another year of life. So, this year, I'm planning to enter my creative and productive stage at the same time as the flowers and birds, which means, for now, I’m going to rest with them too. I invite you to do the same.

Cheers to a new year. May you listen closely to the needs of your inner soul and treat yourself with the love and gentleness you deserve, and may the Lord bless you and keep you.

With love,
Pastor Victoria
