God Has a Plan

I often hear in ministry circles that God has a plan for everyone and everything. And although I get uncomfortable thinking that God is in control when evil and hurt is still very present in the world, I am sure that God’s plan for us is to include us in the beloved community, a community of acceptance and belonging. The beloved community and being people of goodwill in Dallas includes you, and it includes Royal Lane Baptist Church. None of us can fully know how God is at work – the best we can do is pray, share stories with one another, lean into our holy text, and listen to those in need as we seek clarity and discernment. Our church leadership and staff have been doing just that over the past several years as we’ve created a Social Justice Team, built connections with multi-faith congregations and organizations, invested in more community opportunities with We Over Me Farm, North Dallas Shared Ministries, and Cornerstone Baptist Church, and as we continue to grow people through thoughtful ministry, worship, and community involvement.

But we can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to the church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, I’m asking you to prayerfully consider contributing to this vision for Royal Lane and to Dallas. We are concluding the pledging season and will soon create our 2020 church budget. We need you. Even if you can’t make a large gift, know that every little bit helps. It’s more about coming together as a community united behind a common cause to grow people and change this city. I hope that you’ll consider making a pledge, giving a donation, or finding a way to be involved by volunteering your time in our good work. I’d be glad to help you in any way as we look towards this great step forward we’re making together. I’m honored to serve with you as we share our authentic Baptist voice with a city in need.
