Minister to Children/Interim Minister to Youth
Laura began serving Royal Lane as Minister to Children on Jan. 1, 2015. Laura’s B.A. from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN is in Biblical Studies and Philosophy. She earned her M.Div from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, CA. Laura is ordained through the American Baptist Churches-USA and followed her ministerial call into the field of chaplaincy. Laura served as a hospital chaplain in Sacramento, CA for seven years and is Board Certified through the Association of Professional Chaplains. Laura has always loved working with children – including teaching school for two years in Ramallah, Palestine and serving rural elementary schools in Southwest Utah through AMERICORP. She loves participating in the exciting things God does in the lives of all Royal Lane children and the amazing things our Royal Lane children have to teach and gift the whole congregation. Laura’s Royal Lane ministry is part-time while she fulfills her full time role as mother to Brodie, age 7 and Quinn, age 5. Laura and Matthew have been married 16 years and the family has one elder cat, Ms. Sebastian, age 15!
