Prophetic Leadership Program
Prophetic Leadership Program
The Prophetic Leadership Program at Royal Lane Baptist Church is an intentional initiative funded by the John and Eula Mae Baugh Foundation and individual donors intended to equip and empower bold, justice, seeking leaders for the church and the public square. Through a robust fellowship for emerging faith leaders and an enrichment track for current clergy, the program prepares leaders not just for traditional ministry, but for faithful, courageous witness in a rapidly changing world.
Rooted in the teachings of Jesus and the Baptist tradition of freedom and advocacy, this program trains participants in preaching, public speaking, ethical leadership, and community organizing. Fellows will also engage directly with social justice movements, collaborate with national partners, and help lead our racial and social justice teams. Whether you're discerning a call to ministry or seeking to grow as a prophetic voice in today’s world, this program offers space to learn, grow, and lead with courage and compassion.

Justice & Advocacy Fellow
At the heart of the Prophetic Leadership Program is our Justice & Advocacy Fellow, a dedicated emerging leader who works alongside our congregation to live out the gospel in public life. This fellow is deeply engaged in the church’s justice initiatives, helps lead advocacy partnerships, and supports our racial and social justice teams. Through mentoring, hands-on ministry, and community engagement, the fellow gains experience in prophetic preaching, organizing, and public theology, becoming a visible and vocal presence for love, equity, and peace in both the church and the wider world.

Pastoral Internships
As part of the Prophetic Leadership Program, our pastoral internships offers seminary students a year of supervised, practical ministry in a vibrant congregational setting. In partnership with the Baptist House of Studies at Perkins School of Theology, we provide dynamic, well-rounded internships that foster spiritual maturity, pastoral skill, and theological depth. Interns participate in preaching, worship leadership, pastoral care, and community life while receiving intentional mentoring from our ministry staff. We also welcome students from other accredited theological seminaries who seek a formative and hands-on context for ministry preparation.
