A few weeks ago, Pastor Victoria gave one of the most compelling homilies on how we need to widen the narrow places in our lives. A year ago, I did just this when I attended my first Daughters of Abraham meeting at our church. For the first time, I fellowshipped with the most wonderful group of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian sisters possible--the love and respect in the room that night was palpable. I knew that this was a group that I needed to actively be a part of. Since then, I've been so blessed to delve more fully into this organization as we've discussed many topics that have led to an increased understanding of what all of our faiths have in common.
On Thursday, May 16th at 7PM our Women of the Church group will be hosting our monthly meeting again. This time, we will be discussing the topic of resilience, particularly in the context of the book Bearing It: 12 Women Find Resilience. You Can Too that four of our women of the church are featured in. The evening promises to be both inspiring and enlightening.
