Stewardship 2020

Living Out Love

In the Matthew’s gospel, Jesus encountered an expert in religious and social law who tested him with this question, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Then Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Royal Lane Baptist Church’s giving and stewardship theme for September is “Living Out Love.” Throughout this month we will learn how to live out our deep love of God and neighbor in the city of Dallas. We are called to love by giving our time, treasures, and talents to the ongoing and expanding work of Christ. Not only will we pledge our tithe for the coming year, but we must also purposefully and passionately invest in ourselves, the church, and our neighbors.

Stewardship month will culminate in a celebratory Sunday on September 29, with guest proclaimer, Amanda Tyler, from the Baptist Joint Committee in Washington, D.C. And that day will also include a “Community Rally” following worship in Vickrey Hall for you to sign up to volunteer for committees, ministries, and opportunities to serve. It will be a great day of fun, door prizes, food, boundless information, and ways for you to invest in Jesus’ work of love in Dallas. Join us every Sunday in September to learn how you can “live out love.”
