2008 & 2009
In the summer of 2008 and 2009, RLBC spent its Mission Trip week at Cornerstone Baptist Church in south Dallas, assisting with on-going ministries, including homeless care and education, construction, and facilitating VBS for the neighborhood.
In the middle 2000s, Royal Lane Baptist Church planned summer mission trips in coordination with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship‘s rural poverty initiative, Together for Hope. This initiative represents a 20-year commitment by CBF to do ministry in the 20 poorest counties in the United States. These counties are clustered in five regions:
- Black Belt
- High Plains
- Mississippi River Delta
- Rio Grande Valley
To date, RLBC Missioners have served in all five: Appalachia (2006), the High Plains (2005), the Rio Grande Valley Valley (2004) and the Mississippi River Delta (2003), and Marion, Alabama, the Black Belt (2007).
